What is Nano Banana 2.1?
Nano Banana 2.1 is the newest release in Google's Nano Banana family of image models, and it puts generation and editing in one model. With no image attached it creates a picture from your text; give it reference images and it understands the subject, then changes, swaps or extends exactly what you describe while keeping everything else intact.
It outputs 1K, 2K or 4K in 14 aspect ratios — from 1:1 social squares and 9:16 posters to 21:9 cinemascope and extreme 1:8 banners. It follows prompts in English and many other languages, and creates up to 4 images per run so you can compare variations side by side.
On Moluri, Nano Banana 2.1 powers the AI image generator. When you have an image you love, use it as the first frame for Seedance 2.5 and bring it to life as video.
Standard vs Ext
Both editions produce the same sizes and quality. They differ in price and in how many images you get per run.

How to use Nano Banana 2.1 in three steps
From one sentence to a finished image
Describe it or upload a reference
Write the subject, setting, light and style — or drop in a reference image to edit.
Choose ratio and resolution
Pick an aspect ratio for where it’s going; use 1K for sketches and 2K or 4K for finals, up to 4 at a time.
Generate and download
Images usually arrive in 10–60 seconds. Open one full screen to check the details, then download the original.
The high-quality prompt formula
Subject + setting + light + lens + style. Write in that order for more consistent results.
An orange cat sitting on an old wooden table (subject), next to a steaming cup of coffee and an open book (setting), soft north-window light in the early morning (light), 50mm lens with shallow depth of field (lens), realistic film photography in warm tones (style).
- Lead with the subject
- Say who is in the frame and what they’re doing before adding detail.
- Describe the light
- Soft morning light, backlit silhouettes or neon side light make a big difference.
- Use photography terms
- Overhead shot, 85mm portrait, symmetrical composition, negative space — control the structure.
- Say what to keep
- With a reference image, write “keep everything else unchanged” and describe only what should change.
Nano Banana 2.1 FAQ
What is Nano Banana 2.1?
Nano Banana 2.1 is an AI image model that handles both text-to-image and image editing. It outputs up to 4K in 14 aspect ratios and can create up to 4 images per run.
What’s the highest resolution?
4K. At 1:1 that’s 1024×1024 for 1K, 2048×2048 for 2K and 4096×4096 for 4K; a 16:9 image at 4K is about 5504×3072.
Can I edit my own photos with it?
Yes. Upload one or more reference images, describe the change and add “keep everything else unchanged” — the model keeps the subject and composition and edits only what you asked for.
What’s the difference between Standard and Ext?
Both produce the same sizes and quality. Standard can create 1–4 images per run; Ext creates one image per run at a lower price, and doesn’t support the 1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1 ratios at 2K / 4K.
Does it understand prompts in other languages?
Yes. You can write prompts in English or many other languages — no translation needed.
How long are my images kept?
Image links are valid for 24 hours after generation, so download the ones you want to keep. Your generation history stays in your library.
Am I charged if a generation fails?
No. Credits for failed or rejected jobs are refunded to your balance automatically.
